Rewilding Rhodopes is looking for a Rewilding officer (RO) – human-wildlife conflict mitigation (Full time employment contract) to complement its existing team in Bulgaria and work efficiently to achieve its goals.
The Rhodope Mountains is one of Rewilding Europe’s rewilding areas. Rewilding Europe and Rewilding Rhodopes work in close collaboration to achieve wilder nature, wildlife comeback, to develop nature-based economies and to engage and inspire more people for “rewilding” in the Rhodopes Mountains.
Rewilding Rhodopes is searching for a Rewilding officer- – human-wildlife conflict mitigation. The position is under the project “From Iron Curtain to Green Belt: restoring ecological networks in Southeast Bulgaria”, funded by ELP, implemented in partnership with Bulgarian Society for Protection of Birds, Birdlife Europe and Central Asia and SSFC. The RO ensures the achievement of one of the main aims of the project and more specifically the outcome related to the improvement of human-wildlife coexistence and reduced poaching, resulting in improved conservation status of apex predators: wolf, jackal and large eagles.
The Rewilding officer (RO) – human-wildlife conflict mitigation will have the opportunity to be a part of a great mission, determine an innovative strategy, work closely with a great team and deliver tangible conservation impact in the Rhodopes Mountains.
